Definition of Problem
Process of Solution
To prevent harmful dust and fiber particles generated in the fiber winding line from adversely affecting employee skin health, mutual technical evaluations resulted in the implementation of SM/920 Fixed Extraction Units with Articulated Arms.
This industrial ventilation solution provided a key advantage, as it required no additional floor space within the existing production area, protected both assembly lines simultaneously, and did not obstruct workflow during assembly operations.
Installation and Initial Results
The SM/920 Local Extraction units were installed according to the planned production schedule without disrupting operational continuity. Installation was completed by our certified OHS-compliant technical team.
Equipped with dual articulated arms, the SM/920 model was positioned to operate efficiently along both production lines without interfering with employees.
Following commissioning, a significant reduction in skin disease complaints among employees was observed. During periodic maintenance inspections, it was confirmed that dust, fiber fragments and airborne hazardous particles were effectively captured and filtered by the extraction system filters.

Long-Term Success
As of December 2022, the continuously operating extraction units have maintained effective collection of harmful particulates in compliance with environmental standards.
Throughout this period, measurable improvements in employee health were recorded, and skin irritation and dermatological complaints were reduced to minimal levels.
Additionally, absenteeism rates decreased, leading to improved production continuity and operational efficiency.
Sectoral Analysis
This innovative industrial ventilation solution addressing skin disease issues in the white goods manufacturing sector serves as a benchmark for similar industrial facilities. The successful implementation in terms of worker health protection and environmental compliance stands out as a model aligned with industry standards.
This case study can serve as a reference for manufacturers seeking solutions for fiber winding lines or similar assembly line applications facing dust and airborne particle challenges.
Conclusion and Evaluation
This successful project developed to address occupational skin health issues in the white goods manufacturing sector provides a model solution from both an industrial ventilation and OHS perspective. Through the innovative use of local extraction units, production continuity was ensured, absenteeism rates decreased, and worker health protection was maximized.
The project outcome offers valuable guidance for companies operating fiber winding lines and similar manufacturing environments seeking sustainable industrial air filtration solutions.
