SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2023 is recognized as the world’s leading trade fair for joining, cutting, and surface treatment technologies. Industry giants such as Lincoln Electric, ESAB, Microstep, ABICOR BINZEL, EWM, Fronius, Messer Cutting, Voestalpine, and many others showcased their products and services to an international audience between 11–15 September 2023 at Messe Essen.
Numerous niche players, hidden champions, start-ups, associations, and research institutes also confirmed their participation. Nearly 90% of the exhibition space had already been allocated in advance. According to project director Christina Kleinpaß, this was a strong signal: “We feel the momentum in the industry. Everyone is eager to meet again in person. SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is the number one event for innovations and building professional networks.”

Innovative Hall Layout for Easy Navigation
The innovative hall concept offered numerous synergies for exhibitors and visitors. Exhibition halls 1 to 5 were dedicated to companies in the welding sector.
In halls 6 to 8, companies presented cutting technologies and services. Equipment, filler materials, surface technologies, services, and digitalization solutions were available directly in the relevant halls. Christina Kleinpaß explained: “This ensures short distances and perfect alignment. Visitors can find products and solutions close by, providing great opportunities for exhibitors while minimizing dispersion.”
Spotlight on Underwater Welding Technologies at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2023
The world’s leading industrial trade fair also provided added value with thematic exhibition areas. For example, underwater welding technology was featured in Hall 7. A special diving container allowed live demonstrations of products to visitors.
The demand is huge. After all, underwater welding and related technologies play a crucial role in offshore energy production and raw material extraction in coastal regions.
